CMM Director Jeffrey Murray serves as curator and oversees CBRM staff and operations.<\/p>\n [\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2890″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center” onclick=”custom_link” img_link_target=”_blank” link=”https:\/\/www.chesapeakebeachmd.gov\/”%5D%5Bvc_empty_space%5D%5Bvc_column_text%5D<\/a><\/p>\n The town provides financial and in-kind support to CBRM. The museum tells the story of the founding of the town and the two are intrinsically linked.<\/p>\n [\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2830″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center” onclick=”custom_link” img_link_target=”_blank” link=”https:\/\/mht.maryland.gov\/aboutMHT.shtml”%5D%5Bvc_empty_space%5D%5Bvc_column_text%5D<\/a><\/p>\n The museum is housed in the original Chesapeake Beach Railway depot. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. MHT has an easement on the building and approves all alterations to ensure historic integrity, as well as providing grant opportunities towards its preservation.<\/p>\n [\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/3″][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”2833″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”center” onclick=”custom_link” img_link_target=”_blank” link=”https:\/\/www.chesapeakebeachresortspa.com\/”%5D%5Bvc_empty_space%5D%5Bvc_empty_space%5D%5Bvc_empty_space%5D%5Bvc_empty_space%5D%5Bvc_column_text%5D<\/a><\/p>\n It is thanks to the Donovan family, owners of the Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort & Marina, that the original train depot was saved. The museum is located on property owned by the Rod \u2018N\u2019 Reel Resort, which granted a lease for use of the building. This national heritage area brings cultural, economic and environmental benefits to the region. Southern Maryland\u2019s history is vital to our nation\u2019s heritage and future.
