A Scrap Book Journey:\u00a0 The Heroes of the Twin Beaches!<\/h2>\n

ROTATING EXHIBIT<\/h6>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][vc_column_text]Our exhibit this summer is riding the wave of the\u00a0100<\/span>th<\/span>\u00a0Anniversary of the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department, that was officially\u00a0incorporated on\u00a0August 4, 1926.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The exhibit is a medley of newspaper clippings and photographs, as well as some\u00a0ceramic and glass\u00a0pieces that were collected from the site of the Belvedere\u00a0Hotel, that was destroyed by fire in 1923.\u00a0\u00a0In addition, we\u00a0are\u00a0exhibiting\u00a0some items from the Loveless family.\u00a0\u00a0If you are not familiar,\u00a0Bernie G. Loveless Sr. was a member of the NBVFD, and his son\u00a0Bernie\u00a0G.\u00a0Loveless\u00a0Jr. was\u00a0one of the founders of\u00a0the Chesapeake Beach Railway Museum.\u00a0\u00a0The Loveless family connection\u00a0is\u00a0near and dear to\u00a0us, on many levels.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The display is\u00a0largely in\u00a0the style of a scrapbook and focuses\u00a0on\u00a0fires that affected the beach, both big and small.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The majority of\u00a0the clippings are\u00a0pre-1926\u00a0fires, meaning\u00a0pre-NBVFD.\u00a0\u00a0But\u00a0it was these fires that\u00a0made clear the\u00a0need for the Twin Beaches to have a fire department of their own!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Come see our exhibit honoring these fire-fighting heroes of the Twin Beaches, especially the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0We celebrate you for your 100 years of service, courage, & commitment to answering the call!\u00a0\u00a0And with deepest gratitude, thank you!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
